Topic: Authors

Athena Sasso - 5/20/2007 9:19:47 AM
I'm a little confused by the use of the word "author" in the context I've heard it in SCWG meetings and seen it in SCWG publications. Is "author" used only in connection with a book? Is it not applicable to one who writes essays, articles, short stories, etc.? Is it used only for published writers?

Thanks.

Not sure of the finer points of writer vs author.
As for the SCWG Published Author's List only covers
published book authors.
We likely have many other published authors of
short stories, poems, nonfiction, children's books, etc.
If these individuals send their info to Lou Belcher she will
put an announcement in the newsletter to offer
recognition to these published authors.

That's a good point. I should probably change the author's page to indicate that these are just published book authors.
