My partner & I have spent the last year and a half traveling the state of FL and interviewing a dozen people and / or groups that have positively affected their communities.

We've interviewed everyone from Emy winners to multi-millionaire philanthropists to authors to former homeless.

We had a "working title" for our book "Today's Florida Heroes: People Who Are Changing Their Communities, Their State, and Their World."

Now we are having second thoughts. Harper Collins did a somewhat similar book years ago titled "Hometown Heroes" so that avenue is taken.

So....any ideas on some different title options? Brainstorm with me? Thanks!!!!!!! SES

A book title cannot be copyrighted.
You can use and reuse any title you want - although it might always be in your best interest - so not to worry if there is the same or similar title out there.

Best to keep titles brief and get the main idea across.

If you want a lot of ideas on this, come to the Blueprints One meetings on 2 and 4 Wed at 7:00PM at West Melbourne Library. This group of authors focus on helping each other with these types of things!

I agree with Val on this one, especially the part about keeping it short. Your title could work, but only if you make the "Today's Florida Heroes" part large and the "People Who Are Changing Their Communities, Their State, and Their World" part look like a further explanation of the title.

Thank you Val & Bill for the advice.

I did want to use the Today's Florida Heroes as the title and the rest as a subtitle. I'm just not so sure now.

One of the speakers at the January conference indicated that the publisher will (might) chande one's title. I agree with Dr. Allen your title probably shoudn't duplicate another title.
