Topic: Who sees my work first?

Beth Watkins - 1/4/2009 2:16:58 PM
How do I turn my rough drafts into manuscripts? I have both a children's story and a fiction novel completed. I have some great marketing ideas for the children's book. I also have plans for a sequel to the novel. Unfortunately, I have zero funds.

It seems most SCWG members are already published authors and I don't know where to start. Can you please help?

Beth-

We have a sub-group within Space Coast Writers called Blueprints-1, intended to provide a forum to exchange marketing ideas. Some of the members should be able to answer your questions. Blueprints-1 meets at the Suntree/Viera Library 902 Jordan Bass Drive, at 7PM the 2nd Wednesday of the month (next meeting is Jan 14).

Note also our annual Space coast Writers' Conference, two weeks from now, where there are many interesting speakers scheduled who touch upon topics of interest. Info on the conference is via the tab above.

Wishing you every success!

For your children's books, and even your ideas, etc., come to the Children's Writers' Club on the fourth Monday of each month at Melbourne Library at 7:00. There is also a critique group for kids' book writers on the second Monday, same place and time. You should not have to SPEND money to become published if you have a good book, and our job is to help you through the process.

To continue, most of the people in the kid's writers groups are NOT published, and we are working toward publication together.

Email me at scwg-jm@cfl.rr.com if you are interested in attending or would like more information.
