The Space Coast Writers' Guild was first established in 1982 as the Florida Space Coast Writers' Conference, Inc. with the express purpose of providing an annual conference to bring together area authors with publishers, agents, and other successful authors. We are proud to continue the tradition. This year the focus will be on Florida authors. National authors, agents and editors will again join us for the 2012 Conference.

Our conference has been touted as one of the most attendee and agent/publisher friendly in the country. We are consistently lauded for having a small-conference atmosphere that gives attendees the one-on-one feel they can't get from larger events at a reasonable cost.

We have an excellent slate of presenters, authors, agents, and publishers scheduled. This year we have a new feature, called one-on-one mentoring, that we believe will be useful, educational, and interesting for attendees. Rachel Hauck will conduct “Fiction Mentoring.” Bethany Brown will conduct “Non-Fiction Mentoring.” There is a slight extra charge for these events (similar to appointment costs with agents/publisher) and attendance will be limited. So if you are interested be sure to get your registration and request for the workshops in early.

We will continue individual appointments with agents/publishers to give you a chance to give your “elevator pitch” to professionals and get feedback on your work. Again this may be a limited opportunity, so sign up early.

An adult writing contest is being offered with the first, second, and third place winners announced at the conference. The first place winner will receive free registration to the Conference. Contest categories include: Adult/Young Adult/Writing for Middle-Grade Elementary Children. The contest opens the 1st of September and closes the 29th of August (details elsewhere on the site). Get your entries in and win a free conference registration.

For further details about this year’s conference, check the web site frequently. As we have more information, we will make it available to you. For answers to additional questions, please contact Joyce Henderson at jehwriter@cfl.rr.com.
